Cloning
Cloning allows a new assessment template to be created, using an existing template as a starting point. The cloned template will carry all the advanced settings as well as the content (including attachments). It won’t replace the current version of the cloned template. The only difference is in the code, which will have the suffix, (copy), added to it to differentiate it.
You can clone assessment templates that are in any state.
To clone an assessment template, follow these steps:
- Open the assessment in its General tab
- Expand the Actions dropdown menu, on the right-hand side of the header section
- Select Clone Document
- Click Go
- A pop-up window asking, “Are you sure you want to create a new copy of this Template?” should appear; click OK
A draft copy of your template should be displayed (version 1.0). You can edit the code, title and other details to create a separate assessment template.
Creating a New Version
As with controlled documents, new versions of an assessment template do replace the previous one and increment the version number.
However, new versions of an assessment template don’t trigger tasks to re-take the assessment.
You can only create new versions of published assessment templates.
To create a new version of a template:
- Open the template in its General tab
- Expand the Actions dropdown menu, on the right-hand side of the header section
- Select Create new Version
- Click Go
- A pop-up window asking, “Are you sure you want to create a new version of this Template?” should appear; click OK
